Contributing to a better society

Randstad has always been aware that our success depends on society as a whole benefiting from the positive effects of everyone working together.

Randstad takes pride in finding suitable jobs for our flexworkers and ideal candidates for our clients, but our commitment to society does not stop there. For the 1.3 million people in the UK with a disability, who are available for work, only half are employed – compared to 80% of non-disabled people. Providing practical assistance through support workers can improve their chances of a fulfilling career. Over the past ten years, Randstad Student & Worker Support has worked in partnership with educational establishments, workplaces and Jobcentre Plus to provide that support. Skills typically range from specialist tutors to note takers, travel buddies and job aides.

We also believe that work has a profound impact on the state of society. That’s why at Randstad we make every effort to find roles for people that they can be happy in, and where they can fulfil their potential. Through shaping the world of work we aim to make a positive contribution to society. This is also why Randstad is the global employability partner for Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), a relationship that is now more than ten years old. VSO is a development charity that fights poverty through people, matching volunteers’ skills with the needs of communities in the developing world. By capitalising on Randstad’s core competencies and leveraging our network, VSO can stimulate even more positive change to the lives of poor and marginalised people.
